Look on the bright side, Sky (Comcast) has bought ITV and having another thing taken over by the Yanks is sure to make everything better isn't it ? ⚰️
Supposedly everything ITV should remain unchanged until 2034. Can't see that being true. ITN, a news provider originally created and wholly owned by the 15 regional ITV companies, 40% owned by ITV (ITV or ITV Studios?) or Sky News, 100% owned by Sky? ITVX (free and allegedly hackable) or Sky's streaming behind a paywall?
Free-to-air from current transmitter, or streaming? Given the stated aim of this takeover is to compete with Netflix etc., what to do you think?

The coffin in my post pretty much sums up what I think. I cannot think of a single thing that was once UK owned then bought by the US that has improved.

Didn't spot that it was a coffin.
I can't think of a single thing in the UK that has improved in recent years no matter who owned it.

Thank you very much for the "if"!
It depends on how long you were planning on sleeping for, and whether you'd packed on enough fuel for the duration.
prices will still be rising, food quality will be falling
Probably not then.

My broadband has improved, despite (BT) Openreach, but I'm paying a hell of a lot more for it than the rate of inflation would suggest it should cost compared to 20 years ago.
The speeds are faster but there isn't an option for slower as I'm on the slowest of what's now available at my locations. Sounds like compulsory up-selling.
As for everything else, nope, I can't think of anything either.

You've just reminded me of something that is slightly better. I use a spare phone with a monthly SIM package to provide internet - the speed and reliability has improved, I was paying for 100GB data but that went on an offer of 200GB at no extra charge and was due to end next month. They've added an extra 15 months to the offer - and still at no extra charge. (Would have cost £3/month extra to get same 15 month offer if they hadn't).
