Pause on Live TV no longer works

I’m unaware what to do over SMART stats, is this something I need to run, or go look up.
guys.
Appreciate help you have give. to get this fixed.

If you have WebIF installed and running: WebIF >> Diagnostics >> Disk Diagnostics;

...otherwise: Telnet >> "diag" >> "diskattr" (available on the normal - ie non-maintenance - Telnet menu).

If you want an opinion whether the output is good or bad, copy-and-paste the text (from either source) into a code box (post editor toolbar "..." drop-down menu).

I have a FOX HDR T2
Last week it stopped allowing 'pause' on live TV .....
It is still making recordings OK, pause works fine on recording playback - but not on live TV.

The 'PVR' button on remote does flash read when pause pressed, so again giving confidence in the remote.
Removed all cables powered off .... still the same.

Been advised it is a corrupt time shift buffer, and I should use Maintenace mode to rename the 0.ts file
Never done this could somebody give me a bit of guidance on this or point me to somewhere if such a response already been provided.

PVR is running Custom f/w 3.10

this happened to me a few weeks ago so switched it off at the mains and left it off for 5 mins, switched back on and all works ok again

Mains cycle should pretty much always be the 'first port of call', but that didn't work for Sargan

Still not getting Full Web i/f ...... I get the initial screen with option to press yellow button to install web i/f
Then the request to reboot
I get a success message ( shown below)
Main text of which is:

Congratulations, you have successfully installed the full web interface
and supporting packages. Please restart your Humax device using either
the remote control or the button below.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

But when I open a new browser section I just get the same "Download & install" or "access telnet" buttons.
Web interface does not start up.

If I run The Diag from Telnet, I get error:

Are you sure you wish to run diagnostic 'diskattr'? [Y/N] y
Running: diskattr

wget: can't load library 'libpcre.so.1'

So assume something still not well on the PVR

Seems a bundle of files missing should I reinstall custom f/ware again (only done 48 Hrs ago)

It's a tough read for novices (or even me), but this seems to be relevant:

https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/lots-of-errors-updating-all-packages-help.9557/post-137815

What you really need is somebody who understands it properly to summarise. If left to me, I would use the Telnet menu to set RMA mode (wipe the CF from the HDD), then clear the RMA flag, and that will enable the WebIF to be re-installed from scratch.

Something I am concerned about is whether the HDD is actually damaged, and the reason some of the WebIF stuff has gone AWOL.

I am not sure if it is exactly the same problem but
Ah wait, sorry, try this:

Code:
/bin/wget -qO- "http://hpkg.tv/diag/ssl/fix" | /bin/sh
seems to be the cure for the libcrypto problem

After that command try
Code:
opkg update
opkg upgrade

I can't recall seeing a huge string of .list files being reported as missing before

Telnet session, command line.
Wouldn't hurt to run "diag general" from there as well.

OK .... first command ran OK ....
/bin/wget -qO- "http://hpkg.tv/diag/ssl/fix" | /bin/sh

But the opkg update and opkg upgrade both failed ... (not sue if I'm supposed to use code window or not - but it is below)
Also sorry I don't know how to run the diag general from Telnet.

This is the result :
Code:

Try this command in telnet:
Code:

Compared with the problems in the linked thread, you also have an issue where the wget package is missing a dependent library. However, as your transcript shows, the CF version /bin/wget does work. So by reducing the program search PATH, opkg should use that instead; the parentheses make this happen in a temporary context ("subshell").

To run diag general, just type that at the telnet prompt.

you are right, could not follow that with my knowledge level
if your solution is sound (and safe) ... can you tell me the steps to follow ?

See, this is the problem: trying to guide a novice through the black belt ninja fixes our resident hackers can use, when they understand what they're looking at and what to do in response, is like dancing on a pin head.

This kind of problem is turning up too frequently, and we need a simpler solution (not to mention working out what is causing it). Is there anything wrong with my RMA approach? It does, of course, require the system is sufficiently intact to implement RMA...

Run the ........... ( PATH=/bin:/sbin; opkg upgrade )
