Puzzle Corner

Made an educated guess after the first few (3 I think) easy moves. Solved it on second set of guesses.
Tsk!
A2=5 A3=1 C2=1 B5=1
[B3 D3 E3]=[3 4 5] ∴︎ C3=2
[A1 A4]=[3 4] ∴︎ A5=2
[E2 E3 E5]=[3 4 5] ∴︎ C1=5 B4=5
[B2 D2]=[2 3] ∴︎ E2=4 E3=5 D5=5
[B1 B2]=[2 3] ∴︎ B3=4 D3=3 D2=2 D4=1 D1=4 A1=3 B1=2 E1=1 E4=2 E5=3 C5=4 C4=3 A4=4 QED

Were we short a Futoshiki yesterday? Here's today's:

After the first few easy wins, the key is to realise the exclusions from [D1 E1].

[A1 A5]=[4 5] ∴︎ E3=5 D4=5 A5=5 A1=4
D2 or E2 = 1 and D5 or E5 = 1 ∴︎ [D1 E1]=[2 3] ∴︎ D5=4 B5=3 E5=1 D2=1 E2=2 E1=3 etc

I’m afraid this one was trial and error again. After completing it I looked at the spoiler and found it wouldn’t have helped. Guesses on B2, C2 and D2, E2 allowed progression.
Is the Saturday one easier than Sunday? That’s two weeks when, to me, one was (fairly) easy and the other wasn’t.

Found it, I had skipped to the puzzles in the TV guide.

This one was, but whether that always applies is another matter. We know how good they are at rating Kurosus!

Shirley Futoshiki is never in the TV guide. Hidden among the holiday adverts and other fluff maybe. I often have fun trying to find those extra puzzles and the financial pages on Saturday. :rolleyes:
