I thought dehydrated water was a decent metaphor for greenified fossil fuel, namely, electricity stored in batteries in electric cars, but generated from fossil fuels?
 
Never heard of that one. When we were talking about it before it was with regard to the concept of adding minerals etc to pure water to recreate Buxton (or whatever flavour you prefer).

Used to work in a brewery.

The process of adding chemicals to water ready for the brewing process was called Burtonising with the intention of getting the water as close to that-found in Burton on Trent where the best breweries were originally thought to reside.
