Looks good though - what extra do you see if you press a button on the real remote control, and if you press one on the virtual?

(@BH - I know, but you both seem to have an issue with IR)

I don't see anything extra in the log (if that's what you mean).
When i make a selection in the virtual RC i see the red beam image and in the History section I see the action:
GUIDE (0x1b) but nothing happens on screen. Doing the same on the real RC works OK.

Does that mean you do have an HD-FOX?

I tried the same from my HDR-FOX using Safari on iPad, not expecting anything to happen, and a VLC window opened (but did nothing).

What af123 said about it is irrelevant then. Your play button should work as long as you have a VLC applet and you have content sharing enabled in the Humax menus. (Menu >> Settings >> System >> Internet Settings)

It also won't work with HiDef without further fiddling.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. I tried on a different laptop running XP and IE8. I am able to watch Standard Def files. So, there must be something about Windows 7 and/or IE9 that it doesn't like. The remote control doesn't work from either laptop. It's no biggie for me that it isn't working but I'd like to know why it doesn't - if anyone has any ideas.

Yes, but it would be good to try and work out why it's not working in IE. The way IE does caching is troublesome in general (which is why the Foxsat web server specifices no cache on every page - I've avoided that for now). There should be a setting somewhere to make it check cached content on every request - worth seeing if that makes a difference. Otherwise, if you can find the developer or javascript console, it would be useful to report and errors that are logged in there.

Already did - same thing. The remote doesn't work.

It's worth pointing out (for clarity) the IR problem doesn't necessarily relate to the OS/browser - on iPad/Safari IR works on my HDR-FOX but not on my HD-FOX. I have not yet spent any time trying to track the problem down.

I have mine set on Mode 1, Mode 2, & Mode 3, and all work fine via laptop (Firefox 17.0.1), iPad, and mobile phone.

That is generated by a different section of code.
