Replacement remote

Can anyone recommend a decent remote for the HDR-Fox T2
I have one cheap one here but its hard work (no OPT button)
None of them seem able to switch codes that I can find.
I'd rather not pay the Humax price ( I'd prefer the asda price !)
but need the channel swap facility.
thanks

...but I don't think you'll find any non-OEM handset able to change control channels.
I haven't found one. Best I could do is a generic one (eg. One for All) with learning facilities (that is you press a key on the old remote and record the result on the new one). But if your Opt button doesn't work on the original remote you can't teach a new remote the code. Not forgetting the learning can be a bit temperamental.

What do you mean by that?

I assume - low cost replacement. Best I can think of is a used one from an auction site - but quality varies.

Do you mean the channel+, channel-, and numeric buttons or something else?

If you have a one-for-all universal remote that controls multiple devices, you can use the info from

I was able to assign opt+ (00423) to almost any other key on a URC 11-1280 (using 'setup' instead of 'magic' and the correct device key). (Eg Amazon are currently selling the URC 1240 for under £10, may be less on eBay.)

Thanks for all the feedback - and sorry for not picking a better place to ask
(it was a spurr of the moment question)
I can't use my phone - I don't use those things.

You're right BH - I couldn't find one capable of channel change.
I'm suprised because its not hard to do - I've done one in a PIC chip
myself - I still have it somewhere - the learning code was a bit tricky in
places but once I'd worked out how to do my very odd air conditioners'
signals on a learn cycle it would do pretty much anything -
If I can do it just using a bit of C and a picoscope I think
the chinese have fallen down a bit there... A trend I seem to be picking
up with modern tech - things have been going downhill for some years
I think.

I do have an older 'one-for-all' but I couldn't ever get it to work on the HDR
Maybe a newer couple of those is my best answer.
