Cheers, out of curiosity what comes up when you enter their channel numbers when you have time to try please.Possibly dropped then as all the other subscription channels including Paramount/NOW tv etc. are shown in the guide after the standard Freeview channels.

That must be why the price went up a couple of times since I have been watching it on Amazon,Just ordered one from Amazon, pleased to bin that dreadful Aura.

Not sure if I've lost the thread here, but the BT/EE box has jump forwards and backwards as well as fast forward/rewind. The >> button jumps forward 60s, the << button jumps back 15s in any recording (mine does anyway). For example, 4 >> blips and Channel 4 adverts disappear....You can fast visually forward/rewind Freeview recordings, but it doesn’t have the ability to jump eg 2 minutes at a time and eg back 15 seconds at a time like you can on the Aura.
I read that in another review but it doesn’t work for me, it just advances the speed of the fast forward/rewind. 4x >> does 32x speed. Not sure if I've lost the thread here, but the BT/EE box has jump forwards and backwards as well as fast forward/rewind. There is a setting in the menu (somewhere, can't remember where at he mo) to set the amount of skip forward and backward time I thought? This is activated by pressing and holding the the cursor control pad < and >, similar to what we were used to on most Humax boxes BUT unfortunately it is not as reliable - takes a bit of practise but it does work, most of the time.I read that in another review but it doesn’t work for me, it just advances the speed of the fast forward/rewind. 4x >> does 32x speed.

I'm using a universal remote control (Humax) which might confuse the issue. < and > buttons are for fast reverse/forward, << and >> buttons are for skip backwards/forwards on my remote. I'm pretty sure those buttons map to the same buttons on the BT/EE remote. I'm not aware of any way to reconfigure the BT/EE buttons.I read that in another review but it doesn’t work for me, it just advances the speed of the fast forward/rewind. 4x >> does 32x speed.

The most recent major software update on the BT/EE box (i.e., change of interface look and feel) introduced quite a few "features" with playback. If I hit > multiple times quickly (to skip an intro) the box might go 2x and back to play, or skip 60s or blank screen and restart. Also, a number of times when starting a recording it plays for less than a second then blanks the screen then starts again. All a bit flaky. The old BT software was the most reliable and each new release makes it harder to operate given that it doesn't remember anything (e.g., every time I go to the schedule I have to select Blue button, HD & Subscribed to get the channels I want - a decent box would allow me to configure that or remember the setting). The only downside I have found is that is sometimes when you try and skip the third set of adverts in an hour long program it will freeze the picture, than go blank screen for a few seconds, then it will eventually recover and put you back to the start of the recording? This happened on my original EE on contract box and my new eBay supplied BT box, which is not on contract. Not a big problem but a little irritating.

Well done. I dug out my BT remote and after much experimenting discovered the same trick as you did. It is not an ideal solution as, as you have found, you need pretty good reactions to get it right. Examining my Humax remote I realised the cause of my confusion - I was using the Humax jump buttons (|<< and >>|) which are not the same as the fast forward buttons. The Humax jump buttons work as you would expect giving exact control over the number of jumps. If you've got a Humax Universal remote (as came with the older Freesat and Freeview boxes) it might be worth a look. Pity the BT box doesn't allow you to choose the duration of the jumps as the Humax boxes do....Cracked it, press and hold the right side of the jog wheel and it jumps 60 seconds at a time for as long as you hold it.
I have found to jump a four minute break I press and hold and count three jumps then let go as it does one extra one when I let go.
I will see how I get on as you do have to have lightening reactions to get the right number![]()
I was thinking the same thing.Does the team think this thread needs splitting out to a thread under "Non Humax PVRs" maybe (is this BT box Humax or not?)?
Exactly what I tried to say a few posts ago - so I am not going gaga then, yet!Cracked it, press and hold the right side of the jog wheel and it jumps 60 seconds at a time for as long as you hold it.

I've formally requested the mods do a thread split, using the reporting system. Give them time...This thread has been totally hijacked by users or discussion of the BT/EE boxes - nothing to do with me gov!![]()
No you cannot, there is very little customisation at all, which to me is half of the appeal, it just does what it says and so far very well.Sorry but here's another EE TV Box Pro question
Can you set time padding for start and end of recordings?
Has anyone got a link to a manual for the EE box, have searched online but can only find Guides?
