The Chief Scientific Advisor implied that "herd immunity" might result if enough people caught the virus. The Health Secretary said this wasn't the policy. Whilst the two statements aren't mutually exclusive you do have to wonder what the real intention is.
Many other countries have forced the closure of bars, restaurants etc, and stopped public gathering. Boris and his advisors have "encouraged" us not to go to the pub, cinema and to avoid unnecessary travel [on public transport?]. I find the advice for the over 70s a bit vague - self isolate for 12 weeks, but you are allowed to go out for a walk - just not to the shop to get those non-existent bog rolls. Perhaps
