Hamish & Dougal are creations of Barry Crier & Graham Garden on ISIHAC, specifically in the sound charades round. That created a spin-off.

Yes, I remember a few like that. Actually the very first one was where the Doc turned up, said good morning, turned his back and started writing and speaking (at us rather than to us). He carried on like that for the next 50 minutes. Thankfully they weren't all like that.
