Hmm.
This box generally does a crash on start (10-20 secs in) every couple of months.
Last time (until this) was 4 Jan.
Yesterday and today it has crashed on start, and both days the warning panel has also contained info about tune-fix updates.

Seems a bit of a coincidence.

Like with Basic line numbering, give each operator a block of 10.
That always worked, didn't it? Until it didn't.
Many years ago when I wrote a serious suite of programs in Basic (Yes, I know, but not my choice - I did it for the beer tokens) renumbering always seemed to work. That quote would suggest you came across a scenario where renumbering failed.

I've just realised I haven't got BBC 3 or W in my EPG. Tunefix-update is updated to 1.0.116 .
Is there any way to force tunefix-update to act or logs to see why it hasn't?
I tried a force re-install from the diagnostics page and checked the xinit.log after a re-start but I couldn't spot anything there

I expect a manual re-tune will resolve this, but I was curious.

It's difficult to know without knowing what the state of your tuning was before.
Missing BBC3 is presumably because you haven't installed 1.0.114 somehow, and I suspect your Dave ja vu may still be on 23 for the same reason? This would stop 1.0.116 from working properly.
Has the box not been powered on at all between Jan 25 and Mar 5 with a working internet connection?

Manual retune will of course fix it, or I could probably tell you the command line instructions if you want, which will save mucking up your recording schedule etc.?

Ah OK. So 114 failed for some reason, but I hadn't noticed. My box is used (and turned on and off) nearly every day.
It might be nice if there was an easy way to re-try missed updates (before the most recent) or at least get a clearer indication that it failed.

I'll manually re-tune (and use the schedule backup). Hopefully it will keep up to date for the next set of changes!

I can't think why it failed then.

That's quite tricky given the current architecture.

Yes, better logging would be useful.

For reference, here are sample instructions (from the command prompt), assuming you're on 1.0.113 and you know the latest is 1.0.116:
Code:
cd /tmp
opkg remove tunefix-update
wget -U "" http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/tunefix-update_1.0.114_mipsel.opk
wget -U "" http://hpkg.tv/hdrfoxt2/base/tunefix-update_1.0.115_mipsel.opk
opkg install tunefix-update_1.0.114_mipsel.opk
opkg install tunefix-update_1.0.115_mipsel.opk
opkg upgrade tunefix-update
reboot
