webif auto-decrypt error

apparently, the command 'decrypted' isn't recognised! I needed to use -encrypted..! So in theory I'm back to where I started - will check if things work!

If "something" knows they are already decrypted, why can "something" not set the flag automatically (and log it of course) to save the poor user from having to do it?
I've had a couple of these in the last few weeks, when something has gone wrong somewhere for reasons unknown, and it seems like a bit of a pointless nag.

The automatic decryption process has lots of checks built into it and if anything goes wrong, then it aborts and informs the user. In this case, the file was in an inconsistent state - a state which should not normally arise. Attempting to fix the problem automatically could have compounded whatever the problem was. In any case, "Something" can only make a best guess at whether something is decrypted.
 
I have just re-installed CF on a replacement HDR (the other one broke, not booting up, no lights etc) - I moved the Hard Disk over from the old unit (fundamentally the "new" unit is working OK) and then installed the latest CF HDR_FOX_T2_1.03.12_mod_3.00 (it was already running OF 1.03.12) .

It is now all setup as before for FOXLINK (recursive autodecrypt is enabled for My Video folder), and the HDR's contents are visible on a remote HD Fox as a virtual USB drive (just like before).
However the HDR is now generating lots of decrypt errors like this:

I have updated the HDR FOX and HD FOX to the latest packages available.
I have closed down the remote HD Fox, I have rebooted the HDR, but still the same decrypt errors appear. Any clues?

If you moved a hard disk containing encrypted recordings from one Humax HDR-Fox T2 to another, the new Humax will not decrypt the recordings made on the old unit, either with standard firmware or with Custom Firmware. Only the original Humax can perform the decryption because each unit has a unique way of encrypting the files
 
Yup, thats it! Many thanks.

I now see a different problem - it keeps trying to decrypt files that were already decrypted.
Is there something I need to reset that stops that churn?
 
If you run the fixencflags diagnostic, it should correct any flags that are wrong by analysing the recordings to see if they are really encrypted.

The auto decrypt is not working properly - even for files this machine has recorded itself on this disk

Where should I start to look for problems?
 
Might there be a problem in the DLNA database? To reset, turn off content share in the Humax menus with the remote control. In Web-If, open Diagnostics>DLNA Server and press the 'Reset DLNA Database' button. Exit and re-enable content share on the Humax. The database will then be rebuilt from scratch. Hope this helps.

I think that if you had said that the files were already decrypted or that the File did not decrypt properly, people would have believed you:frantic:

I had a CBBC-HD recording show as scrambled today and this fixed it, awesome bit of kit.

I wish I had a toolbar on my 64 bit machine. If I had one I would use a big grin smiley here.

Just learn a few codes. Type ":D" and you get :D. At the top of the page click Help.. Smilies and there is a list (bookmark the page and keep it open in a tab). It's what I have been doing all this time in iOS, but now don't have to.

Bugger. What's happened to the Help??
