What does ENC mean on my SD recording?

Yes - London thing!
Seemingly every programme - 24/7.
One of the HDRs that I am supposed to look after, has not been updated for ages, as it has no internet connection, and recently all its BBC1 SD recordings show the orange ENC flag on them - which puzzled me until I read here.
I am assuming that, when I find the time to get that box's CF and packages updated, then the most recent version of auto-unprotect zaps SD recordings as well as HD, and that'll disappear the pesky ENC flags?

Do we know if the problems affects the newer Humax boxes that don't have the use of the customised firm ware?
The problem is not severe to Us since we can easily work around it but affects those that don't use the CF more.

By whom? Source of knowledge?
If it's of any use, I think this is also happening in the Midlands (I have literal line of sight on the Sutton Coldfield transmitter), but as I have auto-unprotect turned on it's hard to be entirely sure because I've only seen it happen a couple times, generally after the box has crashed (an increasingly common thing, worryingly) and so some packages have been disabled for safety. The two I can name were both BBC (not 100% sure which of 1 or 2, but definitely not 3 or 4), and somewhat unexpected - a version of The Importance of Being Earnest, and another of The Tempest...
Do hope they don't go full-encryption, Sony-esque lockdown (or indeed regular macrovisioning like Channel 4 used to love employing), because the main reason I'm recording these things is for educational OTA capture under an ERA license, and having to use a DVD recorder instead of just capturing the stream is an incredible PITA...

If you run the d126 diagnostic, you will get a list of everything in the current EPG for your area that exhibits this problem.

Yes, it could do with a 'localtime' modifier adding to the SQL query's 'datetime' function. It also doesn't work on the HD unless you take alternative measures to sort the paths, but I guess that's being a bit picky for something that was probably thought only of temporary need.
It seems to be hanging around so I've fixed those two issues.
