Here are the main differences that existed between the Humax HDR-Fox T2 and the Humax HDR-2000T when the 2000T was launched in August 2013, the list has been updated to include changes made to the 2000T up to March 2014, any changes after that date won't be detailed. I don't own a 2000T and owners that do rarely post details of changes, so I can't keep the list up to date

Does raise the question:
Argos are "selling" it now.
Humax say its in development, availability tba.

If you buy from Argos now, what do you get?

It's really strange that Argos say these will be available before Humax have even announced the new model, let's see what next week brings, maybe an 'OOPs we got it wrong' from Argos or some sort of announcement from Humax

Will be interesting to see whether it will be possible to use Custom Firmware on it.
Or will it be locked like the YouView boxes.

Could be a rush for FOX T2s if no CF possible.

That's one of the reasons why I purchased a second HDR. I was keeping it as a spare but couldn't resist the temptation to use it and retire my Topfield 5810.

Reserved one of these at Southport Argos. Unsurprisingly it was not a HDR-2000T that came out but a HDR-Fox T2, 500gb. If you want a HDR-Fox T2 for £179.99 though, it is not bad: 20 quid dearer if you use the correct catalogue number!

I wonder how long it will take for them
to get wise to that and charge the higher price.
In one way it's false advertising. I am sure that they on 'soft ground' as we say here.

The following quote is from the Argos Terms and Conditions
5.2 Sometimes the product specifications from the manufacturer may change, in which case we will do our best to offer you a similar alternative. We may experience problems with the supply of certain products and may therefore supply a substitute of the same or better quality at the same price. If you are not happy with the replacement or substitute you can return it in accordance with our 30-day money back guarantee. Where applicable, you may cancel your order in accordance with your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations (see the Returns and refunds page for further details)

This will distort the sales figures for each of the two products, Argos could end up 'selling' hundreds of HDR-2000T's before Humax have even produced one ! ! !

The confusing thing is (as I said on thread on myhumax.org), that when I originally started researching the HDR FOX-T2 as a replacement for my 9200T, I am sure that Argos had two boxes both listed as HDR FOX-T2 at beginning of laste week and overnight changed the chepaer one to be HDR-2000T

From what I read here, anyone wanting a new HDR-T2 could do worse than getting it from Argos for £179.99!

I have just seen the HDR-2000T listed at HOMEBASE for £143.99, and available to order in store.

The EAN for that "HDR-2000T" ( 8809095665383) brings up the good old hdr fox T2. Great price though!

Although barry says this on that other forum....

"Expect an announcement re the HDR 2000T shortly"
