Probably because of that word patio.
I once heard that word pronounced 'par she oh' by an estate agent.

Please do. I'm getting fed up with it as well. Can add 'Hero/es' to my list.
And most of them are just doing what they are paid to do.Please do. I'm getting fed up with it as well.
Been on mine for years. Can add 'Hero/es' to my list.
Exactly. If you're being paid to do it it's a job.And most of them are just doing what they are paid to do.
Never heard that one."Wait. What?"
First came to my attention in the Trivago advert, but noted occasionally since. I think it's quite useful and not terribly objectionable."Wait. What?"
Generally accepted? Generally used maybe, but "so" is now fashionable (perhaps people are being trained away from "er"?).I thought that 'er' was the generally accepted 'delaying device'.
I think it sounds pretentious unless used appropriately. It's like "you've asked a question any fool knows the answer to and here's what you could have worked out for yourself".The stupid 'so' leads you to believe that the rest of the sentence depends on something that you are about to clarify.
You mean they write starting with "so"? How weird is that!on chat systems
So, let me take a swing at this piece. Not sure if I'll be able to sneak it in before I have to focus on work.
