    Synchronised crashes

It's over a month now since a Humax last crashed so I think we can safely say that dlna-filter solved the problem. Thanks to MymsMan and prpr for the advice as it is not something I would ever have thought of. And I now have a spare Humax!

    Synchronised crashes

No crashes yet so dlna-filter is looking good. About to go away for a week so on past form they are unlikely to crash while we are away in any case.

    Synchronised crashes

Both Humaxes are on 3.13. Thanks for the suggestion of auto-update. Now installed.

    Synchronised crashes

In the instances where we have seen the crash (most often when we switch the TV on for BBC Breakfast) there is nothing we are turning on or off.

    Synchronised crashes

I have checked the packages and there was only an update to webif. I don't have dlna-filter installed but it sounds a very good suggestion as I guess if it can crash one Humax then why not two. The only DLNA server, other than the Humaxes themselves, I am aware of is on a Synology NAS box. I...

    Synchronised crashes

I have been investigating Humax crashes that have been occuring every few days, once twice in a day, some minutes after switching on the TV in our back room. We keep the Humax on all the time so the only change is the TV. The picture freezes, the sound continues then the Humax re-boots. My first...

Daily emails from Remote Scheduling about failed recording

Thanks Black Hole. I had done some searching of the forums before posting, which was where I found out about hmt files being left around and using ftp to explore the file system, but nothing further. However I had not tried using a Google site specific search and that found a different thread...

Daily emails from Remote Scheduling about failed recording

I am currently getting a daily email from the Remote Scheduling service informing me that a failed recording has been detected. Initially this was in fact the case and I deleted the recording using the OPT+ button on the remote but the emails keep coming. I have seen that sometimes there can be...

    Virtual Disk2 stopped working - can't open include.sh

Have now loaded 3.13 and problem solved. Thanks all.

    Virtual Disk2 stopped working - can't open include.sh

Thanks. It is the custom firmware version that is the problem. The Humax with the problem is running 3.03 and the one that's OK is running 3.12. I realise now that I updated packages on both and I must now have a version of virtual disk that depends on 3.11 or above. I have to admit I had...

    Virtual Disk2 stopped working - can't open include.sh

After many months of working fine, Virtual-Disk2 that I use with Network Shares Automount has suddenly stopped working. When I checked the virtual-disk log it show an error - can't open '/etc/init.d/include.sh' . I have checked in init.d and that file does not exist. I have another Humax and...

Recursive auto-decrypt stopped working after upgrade (solved)

I recently did an upgrade to my customised firmware and noticed after a few days that no new recordings were being decrypted even though I have always had recursive auto-decrypt set on the My Video folder. When I checked the auto.log there were no entries in it after the time of the upgrade. I...

Problems using HDMI over Cat5 Extender

Yes it will. I have tested it with a straight HDMI cable.

Problems using HDMI over Cat5 Extender

How long has that button been on my remote control?? Thanks Tim. Certainly worth a try and it was most interesting. Saves me having to use the Tosh to fix my broken picture! If I switch it to anything other than 1080p it fixes the picture. Switch back to 1080p and I get the broken picture back...

Problems using HDMI over Cat5 Extender

I guess I started out on the HDMI over Cat5 route because it seemed simple enough, just a splitter and an extender . There also seemed to be plenty of HDMI extenders with IR available whereas I didn't notice any scart extenders with IR, maybe because I wasn't looking for them. Scart...
