How do i deal with a drive space problem?

Further to my last:- Format done -ok. Took precaution of doing a default setup and have now given it loads and loads of continuous recording with the aim of getting it up to about 30 hours and see what happens. Also as i was down town, I called in at currys and asked what they would do for me...

    Drive space - Just curious.

Good point, life is too short to be a slave to the recorder rather than the other way around.

    Drive space - Just curious.

Martin, yet again you are a right on the ball. Many thanks P.S. You are obviously another late nighter like myself - with me it's just a case of not enough hours in a day. I don't know how I found time to go to work before I retired. Cheers.

    Drive space - Just curious.

Just curious, Would it be beneficial to the hard drive to view the recordings from the last prog at the top of the list and work my way down the list so as not to fragment the drive by picking recordings here there and everywhere at random? And - Other than going through the list and counting up...

Thanks for super quick response Martin. It's worth a try. Still plenty of warranty left (about 10 months) thank goodness. Cheers.

How do i deal with a drive space problem?

Have three 9300T machines in use. 1. Has recorded 174 progs and still ok for space. 2. Has recorded about 26 progs and now has problems. - no space left. 3. Is basically a spare backup with a few progs on so do not know it's potential yet. All up to date with recent updates. Machine 2 decided...

Next OTA due out for PVR-9300T in West Midlands?

Yes, I just spotted it myself, but the data listed is gobbledegook to me, and I was not sure if this listing was for my area (west midlands), or in some other area of the country. One way to find out for sure is to attempt a manual update search on the date or dates stated. Thanks for that. Jim...

Popups, is it you or me?

I believe it will be i/e 8 - Windows 7 home - 32/64bit- Avg free antivirus. I believe popups are disabled as I frequently see "popup blocked" on my travels round the web which is how I like it. No worries, as it's not a problem, I just tick the X and away it goes until the next time. Just a...

Next OTA due out for PVR-9300T in West Midlands?

Thanks for that. I guess an email to humax may be the answer, though I doubt it as they have not replied to the last one I sent. Never mind, these things are sent to try us, and keep us on our toes. Cheers.

Popups, is it you or me?

Hi, I am getting a popup on a regular basis both before log on and during session. Quote "An add on for this site failed to run" unquote. I am just curious if it is the site or my browser (I/E). No big deal, just curious. If it is me, I won't be making any alterations as I leave all my security...

Updates - should I leave well alone?

Thanks for that Martin, I went to the tronisoft site via your link to order the 2 items - so far so good. I then went through the complete order process (and by order of google had to use the google order system), I got right to the point of pressing the place your order button, and guess what...

Updates - should I leave well alone?

Brian thanks for that - have just had a quick look at the link page. Man this is heavy stuff and I will need time to digest and investigate the other links on the page. I just hope the OTA update comes before I finish digesting it lol. Cheers.

Updates - should I leave well alone?

Martin, thanks for your input. I am afraid I cannot point you at a direct report. I tend to use google when investigating a potential problem with anything I own or am intenting buying, and just follow any links to sites where people may have had a problem (usually some forum or other). I also...
