Does the Humax firmware still do this or was it fixed by firmware? Want to dispose of my backup machine that doesn't have custom firmware on it but don't want to inflict that behaviour on a new user.

Well that was odd, both symptoms were indeed caused by duff batteries. I'd opened a new pack of four & even checked the voltage, but it looks like they had no current capacity. Another new set in each remote & all is good. The one that was flashing a sequence was programmed to code set two, so...

A couple of weird ones. Firstly is a T2 that was returned to me from loan some time back. Thought I'd finally get round to wiping it & factory reset, but the remote doesn't work. I can see the IR through my phone cam but I can't control the box or bring up the code switching option with 0+OK...

It's already back up for sale. 👍 Set up a test recording last night & for some reason it jumped out of standby 20 minutes before recording was scheduled. Didn't go back into standby & also seems to have randomly decided to record something else as well. It's also very noisy in operation...

Having just picked up a 5000 on a whim, I'm amazed how primitive it is compared to a T2 with custom firmware. It won't be staying long. If I was desperate to record more than two channels I'd prefer two T2s.

Thanks, although at the time of the reading it's been copying data back from USB for a while but I'll take a look. Should maybe open the front of the cabinet for a bit more air flow when it's taking a pasting like this.
