There's Android then there's Android TV then there's Amazon's Fire OS (based on Android) and then variations within each of those... and probably more (e.g. Samsung etc.,.) ... plus the device memory and processor speeds limitations...
Similarly there are a great many variations of BBC iPlayer...
Go back to Restore TV. They should send someone out to fit the filter where it needs to be.

Their work is funded by the mobile phone companies who are using the ex-UHF TV frequencies so no need to pay yourself.
Also the frequencies of the SD and HD tuned into.
My basic advice would be to go back to the Restore TV people. They may send someone out to sort you out if they believe it it 5G causing the problem.
Go over all the cables and connections with a fine tooted comb to ensure they are not letting...
It might be useful. If there were not other, possibly more competent, devices out there at not dissimilar price points. Fire TV sticks. Chromecast TV. Roku. etc.,.
It's Android TV v11 and there is now v12 out there (with v13 for Developers). So that's now a tad behind, too?

BBC programmes: write to them with the specific programmes and as much detail as you can wrt time within the programmes where this happens. Include that it's a Foxsat-HDR and the South BBC One that you watch/record.
Specifics are important to aid fault-finding / tracing.

Files too large = 4GB or bigger = HD files almost certainly. Even a long film in SD is unlikely to reach the file system limit.
USB sticks must be formatted as FAT32 or in linux (ext3) to match the file system on the Foxsat it doesn't know other formats like ntfs and exFAT. There's one USB on...
In that case there is the possibility of Southampton's HD studios causing some sound level changes - as the signals route through their sound and vision mixers prior to and after the actual opt-out material? They may even remain in circuit throughout the entire show?
On non-HD studio opts...
BBC ONE HD is now long gone; everywhere has their appropriate nations or regions variants on both satellite and Freeview.
All BBC playout is HD and downscaled / transcoded as required at Code & Mux to produce the SD version on Freeview (and the now pan-UK SD version on DSat). They won't be...
I expected as much, but always worth a try.
I've just got a new TV and have discovered that - just as with my AVR and Audyssey - that its built in 'speaker room space tuning' function just makes the sound :poop: so have switched that off and am getting there with it (at last).
Always worth complaining to the BBC.
Keeps people in employment and does inform Management via the Daily Logs (which would make some entertaining reading for me on occasion).
I seriously doubt that anything much will change, though. It hasn't since all-analogue days after all.

A test is to watch DVB subs and only via recordings made... and when it 'goes wrong' for you, skip back a few minutes and watch the recording again to prove its the same; then switch to teletext subs, skip back to the same place and see if it's identical or different.
The Foxsat records the TV...
It's called audio compression. Peak sound levels are identical, but psycho-acoustically they grab attention by being more sound dense, with less dynamic range.
It is nothing new. Lots of BBC promos suffer from it; as do adverts on commercial channels. But as I seldom watch live TV I miss...

It would be worth updating if you want to attempt any hard disk diagnostics/fixing as some of that was in the newer realease.
Teletext subs you have to enter 888 via...
A reported fix for this symptom over on myhumax is:
1. Open the box/take the lid off (power off, disconnect from mains first for safety). 3 screws at rear.
2. Disconnect the HDD cables from the motherboard, refit lid temporarily (no screws)
3. Power up and boot the HDR. It should run the wizard...
Agreed. No benefit from the later loader firmware.
They were changed for manufacturing/production/testing reasons only (according to them in the know on humax-related forums).
I am assuming you are not watching freesat on the TVs, and rather using Freeview tuners i.e. not quite comparing the same thing? It's possible the satellite reception might be a data corruption thing; although odd if only the subtitles.
Check if you are using the Teletext subs or the DVB...
Foxsat-HDR can record and display two types of subtitle: Teletext and DVB subs. They may be subtly different in display and performance? Possibly. The (now retired) expert on BBC subs and technical kit for them is over on the DigitalSpy forum.
Live subtitling is more prone to errors than...
Terrestrial is affected under certain weather conditions due to enhanced propagation (distant transmitters seen that aren't normally); sometimes caused by signals 'bouncing' off the atmosphere. THAT can't happen with a dish pointing into space.

Really need some more tests of any working frequencies on the Humax. Both tuners give very similar numbers usually and no need to document both, nor type out the parameters in future measurements.

Exit out of that.
Change channel you are viewing and repeat.
