I have managed to mount the HDR to the HD. I can see it in the USB list but I can only see one file (the latest). I can also see the Deleted and Duplicates folders with the indication of the number of files, but there is only one file in Deleted and nothing in Duplicates (I have no other...
I was going to use this package to view the HDR via the HD.
From what I read the HDR files have to be decrypted to be able to be seen. I could use the unencrypt package to do this but the package notes suggest it only works between 1-6am because of CPU overloading. If this is true then you...
Thanks.
I'm going to try an hdd to host the CF and see how that goes.
After that mount the HDR to have a 'local' media list on the HD.
Then see if the HDR can be used as the setting for the PVR (Data Storage option), so the HD can set a recording to it.
Thanks Black Hole. As per my other thread and doing things totally incorrectly, I'm now going to try an HDD (Ext3) to host the CF for the HD. Will first try the mount to view the HDR, then i'll try the "Select the HDD for PVR" as you suggest above.
If i put in a usb stick can the Humax format it to Ext ?
Reading the notes, I have to format a usb stick to Ext2 first. Or use an HDD and let the Humax format it.
I'm not using the HD to record from. I put a usb stick in to get the web-if install to work (as someone else had said in another thread).
My aim for the HD is really only to link to my HDR to view recordings on a second tv, as the existing coax link from the HDR to the second tv isn't of good...
I have installed CF 1.02.27/2.11 on my HD. The Web-If install appeared to work, but then when I type in the HD's IP address in the browser I only get 'Status..' and the Release Notes bullet. I don't get any icons, etc. Have tried this in Chrome and IE. The IP address pings ok and I can ftp to...
At the moment I have the box set to padding (-2, +5) but using Multi-mode Recording Settings to convert some BBC and ITV channels to AR.
Recently i've been getting a few AR failed recordings (Q of S, Mock the Week and Michael McIntyre) mostly when a padding recording is done at the same time...
Following on from this - is it possible to set a recording on the HDR while looking at it via the HD, i.e. view the HDR Guide on the HD and record from it?
The HD doesn't have an HDD connected to it.
Thanks.
I have figured out the problem.
There was a rogue second off-timer which was causing the unit to stay in half-awake mode, so the init.d start items weren't running. I deleted the rogue one and after the next on-off timer it was back to normal.
I seem to have a problem where some of the items in init.d aren't running. I have my own dedup which is set up to run but hasn't since the weekend. Also, the icons next to the programs in the media list just show a grey square with a smaller film logo in it, rather than the first frame of the...
Why turn it off? - to save electricity?!
I currently have a magic eye connected to the coax cable upstairs which controls the HDR downstairs. As it stands the HD remote will control the HDR as well via the magic eye, which is not what I want. One option then would be to change the frequencies...
From some reading up it looks like you can't wake up the HDR remotely because the ethernet port isn't active when the HDR is in standby.
If I'd known that a while ago I may not have bought an HD to go in the bedroom (the HDR is in the lounge). The main reason I did buy it was to get a better...
Has anyone renamed a file using web-if or dedup and then tried to rename it using the humax media list on-screen. It says processing but doesn't change the name. When I look on web-if the original file is still there, but there is also a .hmt of the new file but with the date and time in the...
Ok, I have created a dedupforflatten script I can share if anyone, using flatten, is interested.
It renames the file and programme title to "title: episode name", so giving the user more info of the programme in the media list.
As I only want to rename a file once (to avoid multiple...
Ok, i've created something which seems to work. One thing which isn't fully functional is determining when there is a duplicate.
I'm creating a filename/prog name of "title: synopsis", so for normal programmes there would only be true duplicates the episode info is usually unique, but it doesn't...
