  Yes, if the tv is on and then i bring the humax out of standby then all is fine. The problem seems to be when the tv is off (for several hours) and then i bring the humax out of standby before the tv.

  Best alternative to RM-F04 Remote
  
  The PVR and TV mode buttons have to be pressed down really hard with finger nails to get a response. Other buttons mostly OK. Its over 5 years old and batteries are fine. I read somewhere that these remotes are prone to this and 5 years seems to be a better than average life for these remotes.

  Hi, my RM-F04 is worn out and I hear that these remotes are prone to this. Therefore can anyone recommend a good alternative, with most and perhaps per functions than the RM-F04? I need one that controls TV, HDR, Blu-ray player etc.

  Problem solved. In juggling ethernet connections around on my Router I recconnected the Humax to a duff router port, a common failure with DGN2000 routers apparently. Using a different port fixed the problem.

  Is the portal down? My humax (latest custom firmware) shows the app icons but when i select any of them i just get a blank screen. It was ok when i last used it a few weeks ago. Network is ok.

  Yes, it is version 3. I was under the impression that the custom firmware provided extra functionality rather than remove stuff like the portal. I didn't see this mentioned in the documentation? So what now - i have to uninstall custom firmware and then install new-portal but i can't have both...
