Sorry I missed the content sharing 'must be on' in the 'Things Every... (click) section 5' you posted - it was late (midnight) and I did click on the link but missed it. I did try and find the answer before asking, but even from the wiki links and other searches, I missed that important info...
Thanks Ezra - I did that and the decrypt option was there against the two recordings!
As an experiment I did not decrypt them but turned content sharing back off and shut the box down and restarted. The web-if still shows the decyrpt options for both files. So, has something now changed and all...
I force re-installed the web-fi, content sharing is off (it was on) - the auto.log after a diagnostics is zero bytes. From the web-if, media files, the +opt icon is grey and the decyrpt option is not there. I've got these packages installed - even tried a re-install of these.
auto-unprotect...
Thanks for the replies. Back on the old box at present as it's recording so will check the new box when I can. This was a fresh install on the custom f/w, web-if and a tiny selection of packages. I do not believe I turned on content sharing or recursive decrypt - do I need to? I would be happy...
Hi, I purchased a 2nd HDR-T2 and just got around to installing the latest custom firmware - HDR_FOX_T2_1.03.12_mod_2.23 - and some packages such as auto-unprotect 1.09 (this custom firmware went on a unit that came with 1.03.06).
Despite several complete power downs and allowing time for the...
I still run both and almost exclusively use the Toppy for SD purely because I find the EPG and browsing through channels and within channels so much easier than the Humax - it's just so quick and convenient. It's about the only thing in my opinion that is still way ahead of the Humax and...
I got home to find my box was in standby when it should have been off (wedif available with no scheduled recording and showing in-standby) and although disable auto update was still installed, an auto-update entry had been re-added (not seen that in ages, ever since the diable package was...
I've found VLC 2.0 / 2.1 to be worse than older 1.x releases. It's slower at times and completely fails to play many .ts files that older versions opened properly. Media Player Cinema, Splash and VideoRedo have no issues with the files. All the Borgen .ts and one of seven 'Episodes' HD ts files...
It seems to me joe-public should not have had issue with the DSO after all the information given the past year via advertisiing on TV, magazines, leaflets through the door, papers, pop-up messages on the digital boxes themselves - giving advance notice and dates. The problem is with contant auto...
It didn't seem to force anything on me. I got rid of the message, found several channels no longer worked (as expected) and then set about manually going into the service menu and performing an auto-scan.
Not me - on 1.02.20 modified s/w with 7.30 loader. Got home, switched box on and got a message about no signal/tuning needed but nothing else (box was on ch54 BBCHD off Crystal Palace). Performed an auto retune and everything back to as it was. Crystal Palace is strong for me and the only...
Be great to have the Toppy % entry feature - I use that and the 30sec forward button quite often. Love the Hummy and what people such as AF have done for us, but miss the Toppy vertical EPG and features - it all seems effortless and quick on the Toppy and a bit of a chore on the Hummy.
Will the backed-up schedule be any use following a major digital switch-over retune? Channels may move around a bit, so unless the schedule info is more comprehensive than looking at a particular channel, things may get mixed up? Or is the whole think more invovled than a simple look-up?
I get the impression that the drive Humax fit to the 1TB models is not that reliable compared to the standard 500GB model, as most 'drive' related issues reported here seem to be with the 1TB drive. Replacement seems to work, sometimes re-formatting does. Could it be the drives are fine but...
As long as it works for 'as shipped' boxes I doubt they are worried if it brought modified boxes to a halt (although it has increased sales). I wonder how many HDR-T2's are actually in use in the UK.
Big thanks from me to! To be honest, if was the main reason I bought the HDR-Fox T2 and if Humax do not change things for the worse, will continue to buy either another T2 or later model that can be customised in the same way.
Thanks. I realise I can re-encode, but I wondered if other people playing such files on their PC's have noticed this problem? I've not found any PC on XP that plays them ok - home or three PC's at work. Surprised that the problem is not more wisespread. Perhaps Win7 and newer WMP works better...
I've found programs such as VideoRedo, SolveigMM Trimmer and TSniper excellent for chopping bits out or HD recordings, but no matter what program I try, VLC, Splash (MPC no use for me), I alway get ramping up and down of audio for surround TS files that use AAC audio - AC3 is fine! I've not...
