I wouldn't buy through Amazon anyway - I found another seller with a direct on-line sales page.
I just found the designation of a heating element as a remote control amusing. (No accounting for my sense of humour!)

Hmm. You get Amazon protections by ordering through Amazon; what do you get from some random on-line store you have no experience with? I do order things direct, but only after a lot of background checks to make sure it's a real bricks-and-mortar business and I'm not likely to be giving my credit card details to some fly-by-night. Yes, OK you might be able to get redress through Section 75 or Chargeback, but...

And don't rely on PayPal. I would rather trust Amazon and eBay than PayPal!

At the moment I'm looking - just in case. The other company is part of Currys so should be okay. The oven is still working although the top heating element is a bit droopy. The grill element and the bottom element still work as well. Hopefully no decision required soon - famous last words!

Indeed. I tend to buy from Amazon or eBay to get some protection, unless I know the company I'm buying from.

However I have bought from this site several times with no problems:
