Assume v. Presume

Do it yourself, or girls? We all know what you two were talking about. :p

How would you pronounce

Nye's now nigh

if you lived in Northern Ireland?Nye's Nye Nye? :o_O:

The corruption of pronunciation is just as important and invidious as that of meaning. It makes it hard to tell what the speaker is trying to say. Cow or coy? Allow or alloy?

If you are thinking of the accent used by Revd Dr Ian Paisley - shouldn't that be NYE'S NYE NYE? (in the style of Never! Never! Never!)

I quite like trying to make sense of some regional accents. The various Irish accents are always good fun. As is the New Zealand accent. Some Canadian pronounciation is a bit strange as well.

And US too. I often thing, if they pronounce this word like that one, how do they pronounce that one?

BBC News on and I am losing the will to live.

fourth rind at Wimbledon

75 million pinds

all the sport for nigh

:frantic:

I prefer to eat the bacon not the rind. And four is too many.

I wasn't watching the BBC News. Who is it that talks like that?

Dunno, some female sports presenter doing the sports roundup today, never saw her before.
