Can existing HD recordings be decrypted?

In response to the rudery, I found the following webpage which explains the difference between RJ45 and RJ11 connectors:
When I said "square" that was just my rough description of a rectangle. I'm trying hard to write something that is "not wrong".

Unfortunately the waters are muddied by the new (and awful) NTE5C master socket which uses RJ45 for the ADSL/VDSL port. You can plug an RJ11 cable into the middle 6 pins of the RJ45 socket and it will work fine, this is by design. It's still bloody stupid, like the rest of the NTE5E which makes it a) huge (sticks out more in all directions) and b) prone to falling out of the back half if you so much as look at it.
OFFS. So an Ethernet patch cable will work for ADSL but a cross-over cable won't (unless they've been cunning with the contact wiring).

It's all moot with digital landlines.
