That may well be a case of flimsy vs. chunky (staples and staple gun).

i know ITV is supposed to be in takeover talks with Sky (now owned by US company Comcast), but there's no need for American spellings just yet!

Seen in a Metro article (about 'one under' at Gloucester Road yesterday):
"We also dispatched London's air ambulance by road."

The mind boggles. Did they put it on the back of a lorry or what?

If it's anything like the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance they have two Critical Care cars, probably staffed by a doctor and an advanced paramedic, that either operates when the helicopter can't (bad weather?) or in addition to the helicopter in urban areas where the helicopter can't land close to the incident. It belongs to the air ambulance charity so despite the strange wording it sort of makes sense.
