Media mistakes

I have acquired several if you're stuck!
Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately when I last used the staple gun it wasn't suitable for the attempted work. When I get a round tuit I'll investigate felt furniture nails - or fall through the chair first!

Seen on ITV :
IMG_20251124_065256179_MFNR~2.jpgi know ITV is supposed to be in takeover talks with Sky (now owned by US company Comcast), but there's no need for American spellings just yet!

Seen in a Metro article (about 'one under' at Gloucester Road yesterday):
"We also dispatched London's air ambulance by road."

The mind boggles. Did they put it on the back of a lorry or what?

"We also dispatched London's air ambulance by road."
If it's anything like the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance they have two Critical Care cars, probably staffed by a doctor and an advanced paramedic, that either operates when the helicopter can't (bad weather?) or in addition to the helicopter in urban areas where the helicopter can't land close to the incident. It belongs to the air ambulance charity so despite the strange wording it sort of makes sense.

Pathetic Gen Z: "But it didn't show up on the spell check."
Possibly relying on autocorrect. I've lost count of the number of times I've ended up correcting autocorrect. Many applications seem to be stuck with American English - an oxymoron if ever there was one.
I'm trying to rip some subtitles and the OCR keeps being autocorrected to American. Tried to download the English dictionary - not available. B'stards!

I hope that's Gen Zed and not Gen Zee!

Canon introduced a new lens mount for their mirrorless cameras a few years ago. It is the Z mount as it is the last one (according to them) you will ever need and said it would be called the "Zee Mount" worldwide. "Good luck with that" as one of my friends said.

"Juliet Zulu Golf" if you don't want people (police) to ask you to repeat it.

DS John Watt would turn in his grave.
Can you imagine sending Zee Victor Two to an incident?
By 'eck, I remember Zee cars so well, but wasn't it Fancy Smith who used the immortal call sign?

Judging by the repeats of first series currently on TPTV it was Watt who was put in charge of the (crime?) cars. I did think ZV2 had Brian Blessed on it, but wasn't sure and couldn't be bothered to check before I posted!

But that takes longer to say with more mouth movements which is not what is wanted when wanting to save time.
Not if you have to repeat it, especially if you say Zee instead of Zed. "Did you say B?" or "Is that B for Bravo?" could be the reply.
Better to be clear and accurate rather than quick and sloppy.

I have clear enunciation and separation of sounds. I an not a slurrer (except when it doesn't matter). The phonetic alphabet is aimed at communication over possibly dodgy radio connections not for face to face interactions.
