Assume v. Presume

I think you are confusing a participle with a tense.
I actually meant to edit my post and add "Or has my inadequate grasp of English grammar let me down", but goy got sidetracked. In this case it obviously had. Thanks for clearing that one up BH.:)

Pedant: we could argue forever about the shades of meaning of that word.

It would have been soooo much easier had the table placard simply said "Table 2" (or even just "2"). The attempt to be fancy landed the hot water. If in doubt, leave it out!

Apart from the fact that it's completely unecessary - there are only about 8 tables in the place.

Yes, but just placing a "2" on it leaves you to guess that it means table 2. Pretty obvious, I agree, but the full title of the particular table is Table 2.

Islamic writing on the wall? That would be Arabic, then.

And why would anti-Islam be racist? Islam is not a race!

(Getting fed up with inaccurate coverage of Manchester.)

"Black flag with Islamic writing" was another one I noticed. But at least it was from a passer by, not a member of the BBC.
I'm surprised that there isn't more portrait footage. And why is digital video called footage?
