That's a category of device I did not know existed. I was aware of HD Ready, but are you sure that means it has an MPEG4 decoder? My understanding was HD Ready just meant 1280x768 or similar screen resolution, ie more than SD but not 1920x1080 and not with DVB-T2. I always understood MPEG4 support went together with DVB-T2 and you either got both or neither.

Yes to both questions. The TV seamlessly plays That's TV 3. The 9150T finds and plays the rest of D3&4's output

Oh wow, proper information about the audio and video codecs in use. I don't get that on any of my devices.

Nope. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_ready no need for any tuner at all to meet the HD ready spec.

Many EU-wide models had the MP4 codec in DVB-T tuner TVs (such as EEPhil's set). Other makers (e.g. Panasonic) crippled their UK variants in HD Ready and/or full HD screen resolution mode so excluded it. {We had one Panny plasma with DVB-T SD Freeview and DVB-S/S2 HD Freesat inside... I wonder how that would cope

Freeview HD was when the tuner spec for -T2 became mandatory to use that label, after DTG testing, of course. Freeview HD spec still allows any TV screen resolution of course.

Most HD-Ready TVs actually had 1280x768 displays. My Arcam DV137 DVD-Audio/Video upscaling player had an option to set 768p as the output video format to get 1:1 pixel display on 768p HD Ready TVs.
