I tried playing with this and it won't even find 'saw' on its own let alone saw II. I also (probably like Chris) tried using quotation marks and + signs but it just doesn't wanna find it...

I also saw this when clicking on "QI" in the top 20. This brings up the Query +"QI" in the query window which finds nothing, the plus sign and the quotes have to be removed for it to find any matches

i searched for saw and it found it as you say.

Hmmm now that is bugging me! After you said you'd found it I re-tried it in Firefox and IE and Safari but none of them can find it when I search for the word saw (on its own, no operators or quotes). Will be interested to see what's happening here.

A longshot, but it might be because of the changes af123 did to the epg being regionalised etc.
Maybe the search got broke on the way.

I cant find Saw by using the word "Saw", but strangly "II" works lol

Try now. The problem with the natural language search is that if over 50% of the rows match then it returns no results. I've made it fallback to a substring search in that case.

This will need some more work to fix. Natural language searches also ignore any words less than 3 characters!

Now it's gone a bit twilight zone - I tried searching for II as Chris suggested and it found it. Then I searched for saw (no operators) and it found that as well!!! It even highlighted the word saw within jigsaw in the description. I'm not touching it anymore in case some weird barbed wire trap springs out of the keyboard and traps my hands to the laptop and I have to make the choice of staying at work forever or cutting my own hands off with the little blade out of a pencil sharpener......

EDIT - rambled too long! Got carried away with my Saw based daydream....

For search terms less than 3 characters, is just looks for the substring. For anything longer it uses a natural language parser, hence the difference.

Oh deary me, BBC One and BBC Two are now missing from my rs EPG :(. I presumed it was because they didn't match the regional names, but ITV1 is there which doesn't match (?) Should it match on the LCN only? (which naturally excludes the 800-range)

Compared with the webif EPG, there are many other missing channels like:-
7,8,9 (wouldn't expect that)
53 - S4C Clirlun
719 - BBC Radio Wales
720 - BBC Radio Cymru

Obviously I cannot RS programmes for these missing channels! :(:(

Is it 'regional issues'?

The new now/next code excludes channels which don't have an event starting or terminating in the next four hours. Because BBC3, for example, is offline during the day it isn't showing in the now/next. It's still there and a search for something like 'family guy' should still bring it up.

Ok. I did a little testing on IE9 with regards to busy status. I have the latest rs and webif. scheduled recording with rs humax playingback scheduled reboot, waited about 5min no reboot ocurred, which is correct. stopped playback humax waited various intervals 1-7mins and then rebooted, which is correct. So it seems that the busy status is dealt with properly. However in webif it was still showing playback even when I stopped playback and even after the subsequent reboot,, which is wrong. I think that if you were at home and used webif it would mislead you that someone was watching something. I suppose you could physically check if that's the case but it's besides the point.

On an aside, in rs epg I booked a recording, look north, probably regional and when it was added to my schedule it was given the proper name bbc south east news. So epg does not get its region from my machine which could be misleading. I hope that's helpful.

Yes, I did find 'Family Guy' in BBC3. But how does the above explain why BBC One and BBC Two are missing from the rs EPG, but ITV1 (Wales) isn't? :(

Regards. :)

Because your on-box channel listing contains both ITV1 Wales and ITV1..

I haven't worked out the regional stuff yet but in the meantime I will fix the problem you're having by keying on LCN instead of channel name. Try now.

Edit: I'm guessing you delete a lot of channels after scanning?

Thanks for the quick response. OK got BBC One and Two now in the rs EPG. Yes, after a manual scan I do delete the duplicate stuff, the idea being to keep the regional channels. Cheers.

I have just spotted the 'Switch to Grid Style EPG' button in the RS EPG. Well done, works well. Thanks.

Hear Hear here 2 :)

Especially as using Later>>>, I discovered Later (Live) to record later (on) ! :):)

It's looking good and I like the choice been given.
:D

It would be fantastic if the grid style EPG option could be incorporated into the 'standard' WebIF.
