A great facility on my Topfield, is the recycle bin. It works like the bin in windows. It gives you a chance of recovering from deleting something you shouldn't have.

However, it is not a native Topfield facility but part of the MyStuff TAP written by enthusiasts.

I don't think it can be implemented on the Hummy. But I would love to be proved wrong.
Maybe af123 can answer that one??

My view is it could be implemented for web interface deletes, but not for standard interface OPT+ deletes. There would also have to be a daemon running which periodically checked the free disk space and emptied out some of the recycle bin if it was getting low.

If it could be added it would make an already excellent facility even better. I find I'm using it all the time now, easy to use when away from home and I have a spare moment, it's great!!!!!!!!!

That should be possible by replacing the C library that's used by the Humax software... Having very nearly deleted a whole raft of something by mistake the other night I'm tempted to look at it!

Anybody else interested in being able to view/delete items already recorded (mistakes could then be rectified remotely) and hard disk space optimised.

It's not really what I intended the service for. The on-box interface provides some level of this - at least it is much easier to see where your space is using that although the deletion/move operations still need some work. If enough people want this feature then I could add it when I have some time.

Are we any nearer to being able to choose which channels appear in our own EPG, as there is no point in having any that are not tuned into our own box.
Yes - I'll hopefully get that finished tonight.

Please can everyone update their rs package when a free moment arises? The latest version staggers updates slightly to avoid all of your devices hitting the web server in sync every 5 minutes and fixes the wake/sleep timer scheduling.

That should be working now. You really only have those channels tuned in ? : )
Thanks for that, I now have just the four HD channels in my EPG.:)

I only use my HDR-FOX T2 to record from the HD channels, and use a pair of Topfield 5800's to record everything else, as they do a much better job, and are so much nicer to use than the Humax.

I have updated my rs package as requested.

I take it you mean after installing MyStuff, which like the modded software on the HDR depends on dedicated enthusiasts to come up with the goods. OK, you can now get the Humax to e-mail you when it finds a programme previously beyond the EPG dates, but MyStuff actually books a timer. God I miss MyStuff. I suppose that's two of us who need to wash our mouths out.

Nah. I still have my Toppy running along side the Hummy. If it wasn't for MyStuff and the various patches the Toppy would be an expensive paperweight.

There are pro's and con's for both boxes, but out-of-the-box, the Hummy win hands down - it just works!

Will do tonight...
