[rs] Remote Scheduling Portal

Can you explain this a bit more please? That button is supposed to fade away when you're near the top of the page (since there isn't much point showing it at that point).

Thanks.
When viewing the epg on my iPad 2 the 'back to top' button appears briefly as I scroll down the page. It does not stay in a fixed position on the screen as I continue to scoll but stays fixed relative to the epg and disappears off the top of the screen. This happens when using Safari and also another browser called SavySoda.
I know it is early days but I cannot schedule a recording from xepg.shtml. I mention this in case this also is iPad specific.

How often does Auto-unprotect scan the HDD? When I first installed, it cleared all the ENC flags but I have had a couple of HD recordings on the drive for two days now and they are still flagged. One at least was done using the record button on the remote.

I have yet to successfully record Mrs Brown's Boys. Is there censorship at work here? ;) I am trying again tonight.

No problems with the 'Page Top' button here on FF v7. Works as you describe, af123.

Ah, just tried it on my iPhone4 (Safari) and it does as you describe. However, you can just double tap the top of the screen (or you can on the iPhone) and the screen will scroll up. This is a standard iOS feature i recall.

edit:
I seem to remember this being mentioned before...

Just tried on iPad sim and the Back to Top button is staying in a fix position relative to the top left corner of the page. It fades out as you start to scroll down the page and reappears as you scroll back up.

There may be some confusion about which xEPG is being discussed. The one that is part of the on-box webif is experimental at the moment and lots of things there might not work. I'm not investing any more time in that until the RS one is working properly and then I'll port it across.

I'm on about the one on the RS site.

Yes I've noticed the same thing with one particular recording in a folder where the ENC flag never got cleared... In my case all recordings were made by the remote.

Sorry if I have muddied the waters. I have not gone down the rs route yet. My comments only relate to the on-box Webif epg.
I have tried xepg.shtml on my Netbook (Linux FF) the 'Top page' button works perfectly but the URL for the standard epg is missing the s before .html.
As I said before, early days. I am not complaining, just giving what I think is useful feedback.

I think what you are collectively doing is brilliant. Much appreciated!

One touch will do it. It is feature I find annoying. If I am not careful when handling the iPad I find myself at the top of the page when I don't want to be. Grrr!

Same problem on Android. The standard Android browser is Webkit which is essentially the same as Safari. No problems on desktop browsers that I have noticed. I guess it is either something to do with how scrolling is handled on mobile devices or maybe mobile browsers do not understand or allow fixed positioning in CSS.

I wouldn't worry too much about those - every time I tune them in the sound channel is garbled.

Hmmm.....dyna ryfedd, bob tro dwi'n gwrando arnyn nhw mae'r sain yn glir iawn! /
Hmmm.....funny that, every time I tune into them the sound is crystal clear!

:);)

PMSL! Come on then, tell me what "Clirlun" means (HiDef by any chance?)!

I think you might come in handy when random questions about Welsh cross my fevered mind ('specially as you can't even look them up in a dictionary!).

Every day I learn a little (but probably forget more). ;)
Recording successful. It is the first programme that I have tried to record that would be flagged guidance and placed in a folder. Looking /media/video it appears not to have recorded and I probably unwittingly deleted the others. Mea Culpa.

On the HDR programmes get recorded in a folder if they are marked for series link. I presume the HD is the same.

It was indeed a series linked recording.
Auto-unprotect has removed the ENC flag but I now have three HD recordings which remain flagged.
Is there a way to trigger auto-unprotect? I suppose Remove and Reinstall would do it.

The ENC flag can easily be removed via the Web Interface, find the HD recording in "Browse Media Files", click the appropriate "OPT+" button and select "Remove ENC", then select "Yes" on the pop-up confirmation box.
