Of course. Otherwise any nasty that auto-runs from (say) your web browser would automatically have admin privilege.(apparently there is a hidden admin built in on W7 onwards so the User Account is just a ????)
Not unless there is a version of humaxrw compiled for Linux!Just to let you know if its any use, I have a live linux OS (Mint) operating on a seperate machine if we can use that?
There is for the T2, so you would think it fairly easy to produce one for Ubuntu based systems. Not unless there is a version of humaxrw compiled for Linux!
Yes there is. If I remember correctly xyz321 developed first for Linux and then ported to Windows. There is humaxrw version 1.14 for Linux at Myhumax.org https://myhumax.org/blog/?page_id=153 but I am not sure if 1.14 has the -Z option. Not unless there is a version of humaxrw compiled for Linux!
Sorry I can't remember but how would you propose to delete it even if you knew the name?If no Z option which is the file I need to remove?
The Humax will recreate the file when it needs it; the whole point of deleting it is to get rid of the corrupt data.Assuming I can then will The Humax reload the deleted bad file automatically once re- connected?
Yes, it was first developed on Linux. Version 1.15 was the first version to include the -Z option.Yes there is. If I remember correctly xyz321 developed first for Linux and then ported to Windows. Ah the man himself. Can you make a Linux 1.15 available?Yes, it was first developed on Linux. Version 1.15 was the first version to include the -Z option.
Thanks. Barry over at MyHumax.org has 1.14 for Linux in the Blog (I always struggle to find it) so would be one possibility.I should be able to, if I can find somewhere to put it.

How are you trying to run it?Downloaded 1.14 onto my linux box (live mint). It is extracted into tmp file. Cannot get it to run in terminal?
Sigh. I don't think you have got to grips with the problem yet. The file system used by the 9300 is proprietary and neither Windows nor Linux understand anything about it. Hence the only way to interact with it is the functionality provided by humaxrw; that does allow you to delete a program but I am not sure whether it will allow you to delete the file holding the EPG data unless the -Z option is available. Can you clarify? Is it possible to delete the file for the Humax to recreate the file? Is your meaning that the Z option deletes the file but that would be not possible using a Linux OS to view and manage the HDD?

Later Humax boxes are Linux based but the 9200, 9150 and 9300 share (more or less) the same proprietary file system.Thought it was Linux based after reading some of the forum.
So what are the permissions on humaxrw? In Terminal writing /tmp/humaxrw
